Design/illustration projects Periodicals design, production, and/or illustration in the following publications • Journal of Soil and Water Conservation (a quarterly
scientific journal) I also produce illustration and design of collateral materials, logos and corporate identity, brochures, newsletters, book covers, and ads. The last 5-10 years I've spent developing and maintaining Web sites. I specialize in brochure level Web sites (web brochures), but have also worked on corporate e-business sites. Recently I have been developing a marketing technique that I refer to digital storytelling for business. Employment history I've been employed as a Graphic Designer and Art Director. In between full-time employment, I have worked as a contractor, so I've experienced many aspects of the industry. I have 20+ years experience in print and Web design. I work on both Mac and Windows and I am proficient at using these applications: QuarkXpress, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, ImageReady, and Dreamweaver. Professional organizations I am the President and Web site manager (now a blog site) of the Digital Arts Group, a nonprofit, educational computer user group in the central Iowa area. Certificate of Achievment from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for the design and illustration of Elements of Sustainable Agriculture (a poster). 1997. ASAE "Top 250 Association Websites" award for the SWCS website which I designed and maintained. 1997. IABC honorable mention for best newsletter redesign (a shared award with the editor of the Conservogram). 1995.
